Think gifts, decorations, baking supplies, or office treats. Decide how much cash to allocate for each, and stick to it. When the cash is gone, that category is closed. No guilt, no guessing.

Action Step

Label an envelope for each spending category (and even one for each person if that helps you stay organized).
Place your planned amount of cash in each envelope.
When you spend from it, swap the cash for the receipt so you can track where the money went.
When it’s empty, it’s done. No dipping into another envelope “just this once.”
