Pure water boils in an electric kettle on the table in the kitchen

Best Electric Tea Kettles for 2023

An electric cordless tea kettle has become a must-have kitchen appliance to boil water quickly for tea, coffee, or faster pasta. Cordless electric tea kettles are typically quicker, quieter, and safer than stovetop tea kettles due to their automatic shut-off and boil-dry protectors. That means you can walk away without risk while getting ready in the morning or multi-tasking later in the day.

In research and review of cordless electric tea kettles (there are so many choices), Team EC considered, among other things, how long it takes for kettles to come to a boil, settings for measurements, exact temperature, capacity, and functionality. Knowing that everyone is looking for something different, we have boiled all of our findings down to three recommendations—one in each of three categories.

Best Inexpensive

Ovente Glass Electric Kettle

Black cordless glass tea kettle

This cordless tea kettle, Mary’s personal choice, combines style and durability with amazing value! It offers every convenience and safety feature required to boil water.

  • The reservoir is made of borosilicate glass, which will not crack under extreme temperature changes, as we could expect with regular glass. Borosilicate is the glass of choice for high-end restaurants and laboratories.
  • BPA-free.
  • 1100 watts.
  • An LED light illuminates the kettle when it’s in use (looks cool!). The LED power switch automatically lights up the water reservoir when the kettle is in use.
  • Turns off automatically once the water reaches a rolling boil. Added protection feature: Switches off the stainless steel concealed heating element when there is no water in the kettle.
  • The lid opens slowly to control the steam release, avoiding any potential hot water splatter.
  • This kettle is cordless when lifted from its 360-degree swivel base.
  • Features an insulated bottom for easy transport, which means you’re not going to burn yourself moving the boiling kettle from the base to countertop or table. It has a non-slip, comfortable handle that promises a secure grip while staying cool to the touch. The cord neatly wraps around the base for convenient and organized storage.
  • Boils up to 1.5 liters of water more quickly than a microwave and safer than a stovetop.
  • Bonus: 7 color choices, including Valentine red❣️

My friend gave me her “old” kettle when she moved on to a different one. I didn’t think I’d get much use out of it, and I was wrong. Yes, I said it! I was wrong!
We use it for so much more than tea. I heat water often for cooking , and I carry it to all of the sinks in the house. My husband uses it to fill the reservoir for the carpet cleaner. We used it to demolish a colony of red ants in the front tree bed.
I’m sure there are more uses we haven’t realized yet. Feel free to share. I must have missed this post, so I will look it up and see what I’ve missed. I clicked on a link on today’s post.
Thanks for looking out for all of us Mary.
