Dump, Set, Forget: Slow Cooker Soups You’ll Love

Pin - Slow Cooker Soup Recipes

Soup season is here, and I’m all about recipes that let me enjoy the cozy without hovering over the stove. These slow cooker soups are the ultimate “dump, set, and forget” dinners, perfect for weeknights, meal prep, or feeding a crowd. Bookmark, share, or cook. These soups are that good.

Dump and run. That’s my kind of slow cooker recipe. With a little prep in the morning, you can walk in the door to the smell of a warm, satisfying meal, letting the slow cooker do all the work while you tackle the rest of your day.

As the crisp days of autumn settle in, there’s nothing better than a bowl of hot soup waiting for you. These recipes are hearty enough to fill hungry bellies, flexible enough to adjust for what you have on hand, and forgiving enough for busy schedules.

Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

This slow cooker chicken tortilla soup is cozy, zesty, and ridiculously easy, making it perfect for weeknights, meal prep, or those evenings when all you want is a bowl of comforting soup without hovering over the stove.

Shredded chicken, tomatoes, enchilada sauce, corn, and a handful of simple seasonings go straight into the slow cooker. A few hours later, you’ve got a soup that tastes like you spent all day on it, without lifting more than a spoon. Bonus: it keeps for days in the fridge or freezes beautifully for later.

Whether you’re feeding a crowd, meal-prepping for busy nights, or just craving something hearty after a long day, this soup has your back. Add a sprinkle of cheese, some tortilla chips, or a dollop of sour cream, and suddenly, weeknight dinner feels a little indulgent.

Creamy Slow Cooker Potato Soup

Some days just call for a hug in a bowl and this creamy potato soup delivers. Loaded into your slow cooker with simple pantry staples, it transforms into a rich, comforting dinner while you handle the rest of your day. No canned “cream-of-anything,” no hovering over the stove, just pure, hearty comfort. Bonus: it freezes beautifully for nights when life gets hectic.

Potatoes, bacon, onions, and a touch of dill combine for a flavor that’s both cozy and satisfying. Stir in half and half and a splash of evaporated milk, and you’ve got velvety, rich soup that’s better than takeout and somehow even tastier the next day. Top it with shredded cheese, crispy bacon, or green onions, or keep it simple and let the potatoes shine.

Whether you’re feeding the family after a long day, meal-prepping for the week, or craving a slow-down moment with a warm bowl, this soup is proof that simple ingredients can still feel special.

Quick & Easy Chicken and Dumplings

slow cooker chicken and dumplings soup recipe

Some dinners are just meant to feel like home, and this slow cooker chicken and dumplings fits the bill. Tender chicken, rich creamy broth, and fluffy biscuit dumplings come together with minimal effort. No rolling pins, no hovering over the stove, just comfort that practically cooks itself.

Shred the chicken right in the slow cooker, drop in biscuit dough near the end, and you’ve got dumplings that steam to fluffy perfection. Want to switch it up? Add veggies, tweak the seasonings, or try a lighter version with Greek yogurt.

Perfect for a cozy weeknight or a lazy weekend, this chicken-and-dumplings recipe proves comfort food doesn’t have to be complicated. Serve it straight from the slow cooker, freeze extras for busy nights, and enjoy that warm, creamy goodness anytime you need a little slow-cooked solace.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Dinner doesn’t have to be complicated to hit all the right notes, and this slow cooker taco soup proves it. Toss in a few pantry staples in the morning, set it low and slow, and come home to a bowl of hearty, flavorful comfort that the whole family will love. Ground beef, turkey, or even lentils form a savory base, while beans, corn, and fire-roasted tomatoes build layers of texture and richness.

The beauty of this soup is its flexibility. Adjust the spice, swap proteins, or pile on your favorite toppings: avocado, shredded cheese, or even a handful of crushed tortilla chips. The slow cooker does the heavy lifting, letting flavors meld while you tackle work, errands, or just enjoy a rare moment to yourself.

With leftovers that reheat beautifully and flavor that only deepens over time, it’s a practical, satisfying dinner that makes coming home feel like a little celebration.

It looks like there are beans in the Chicken Tortilla Soup, but the recipe does not include them. Is that correct? I would just add a can of black beans.

I was just wanting to make sure the carb count is correct on the Chicken and Dumplings.

I think it’s incorrect. If you ate 4 dumplings it would be 25 carbs alone.

Is your key pad active? Ours was connected to the vivent offices who called us if the alarm went off. We had to give the password and let them know everything was o.k. When we were gone the police would respond to our house to check it out! It is a wonderful asset!

Re: Soup Recipes. They sound yummy. BUT contain way too much salt and fat.
Would prefer recipes that use less of both – low salt/fat substitutions.
Also, would prefer to see ingredients for two servings that can be multiplied for larger quantities
rather than having to try and divide ingredients for smaller numbers of servings.

You said ask …. When the house was built an alarm system was installed – magnets at all the doors and windows, keypad, etc. Now I think I need to figure out how to have someone respond when the alarm goes off, whether I’m there or not. Suggestions? things to consider?
    Thanks!
