Equipment

  • Slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 1 quart orange juice
  • 1 quart pineapple juice unsweetened
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 24 whole cloves
  • 4 cinnamon sticks left whole

Instructions

  • Pour the apple cider, orange juice, pineapple juice, lemon juice, and sugar into the slow cooker. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
  • Drop in the whole cloves and cinnamon sticks.
  • Set the slow cooker on Low, cover, and allow the cider to simmer for 4-6 hours. Stir occasionally to distribute the flavors.
  • About halfway through cooking, give the cider a taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar, if desired.
  • Keep the cider on Low or Warm throughout your event, and ladle into mugs for guests to enjoy.

Notes

For an extra boost of flavor, consider adding a few star anise or cardamom pods along with the cloves and cinnamon.
Garnish mugs with orange slices or cinnamon sticks for a festive presentation.
You can make the mulled cider up to 24 hours in advance and store it in the fridge. Reheat it in the slow cooker before serving.
For an adult version, offer spiced rum, whiskey, or bourbon for guests to add to their cups.
