Ingredients

  • 1 lb 16 oz regular sausage (Bob Evans, Jimmy Dean, or similar)
  • 1 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 28 oz jar Picante sauce

Instructions

  • Brown the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, crumbling it as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
  • Combine & heat: Transfer cooked sausage to a microwave-safe bowl. Add softened cream cheese and Picante sauce.
  • Melt & mix: Microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the cream cheese is fully melted and the dip is smooth and creamy.
  • Serve & enjoy: Pair with tortilla chips, crackers, or toasted baguette slices.

Notes

  • Make it spicier! Use hot sausage or a spicier Picante sauce for extra heat.
  • Slow cooker version: Combine everything in a slow cooker on Low for 1–2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave before serving.
