Large stirring spoon
Heatproof beverage server or pot
- 3 teaspoons instant tea
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 6 cups boiling water
- 1 3-ounce package cherry gelatin
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 quart cranberry juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
Place the instant tea, allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a piece of cheesecloth or a coffee filter and twist-tie closed to form a spice bag.
Steep the spice bag in the boiling water for 5 minutes, just like a giant tea bag. Remove and discard the bag.
Stir in the cherry gelatin until fully dissolved, then allow the mixture to cool slightly.
Add the orange juice, lemon juice, cranberry juice, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Serve hot and enjoy.
This tea stays bright and flavorful when kept warm in a slow cooker on LOW for parties.
For a lighter version, reduce the sugar to 1/3 cup and adjust to taste.
Add orange slices and fresh cranberries to the pot for an easy festive garnish.
Leftovers reheat beautifully and keep well in the refrigerator for 2β3 days.
