For more than two decades I have been a loyal Apple fan. I’ve had several iPhones, four MacBook Pro laptop computers and most recently, an iPad. It’s not been a completely trouble-free relationship, but for the most part, quite pleasant.

Recently, needing to replace my decrepit MacBook Pro, I went to the Apple store, took a salesperson-guided tour of the new model that would be released in a couple of days, placed the order (ouch!) and arranged for it to be shipped and left.

You could have knocked me over with a feather when it arrived. Apple did it again—completely changed the charging system/configuration. Now, my two extra chargers (I need a total of three because I just do) won’t work with the new computer! What choice would I have but to fork out another $79 each for two more chargers?!  I didn’t know, but I was going to make it my business to find out!
